Sibahle children say siyabonga !

Kate-Merie Ferreira

On Monday 30 May, the teachers and learners of Sibahle Primary School were blessed abundantly by local businesses, who they want to thank from the bottom of their hearts.

Over the Easter period this year, Mall@Mfula held a colouring/drawing competition for grade R – matric learners in the area. All schools in the Mkhondo East and – West circuit participated.

Five grade R learners of Sibahle Primary School were chosen as winners in the competition and they each received a hamper with toys, stationery and easter eggs. They were so excited about the prizes and felt proud that their talents were recognized.

The management and faculty are very proud of the learners’ achievements and want to thank their teachers, Mrs Mkhatshwa and Ms Kuhlase for guiding the learners and assisting them to enter the competition.

On the same day, the management of First National Bank Piet Retief visited the school and handed over school uniforms to more than 30 learners which included black school shoes, socks, shirts and pants and jackets for the boys and skirts for the girls.

The learners from Sibahle Primary mostly come from impoverished backgrounds and this sponsorship makes a world of difference for them.

The teachers, parents and learners were overwhelmed with gratefulness by the kind gesture.

Siyabonga kakhulu!
