Mabuya Centre helping children in need

Kate-Merie Ferreira

On Friday 10 June, Thabiso Ngwenya and Nomcebo Nkosi of the Mabuya Centre visited Qhubekani Primary School and handed out school jerseys and shoes.

Mr Ngwenya, who is a local businessman, saw how much the community around him, especially children, were struggling and felt moved to reach out to them through his foundation.

He contacted the principal of Qhubekani Primary School and with assistance from the teachers of the school, they identified 27 children who did not have a warm jersey or a proper pair of school shoes to wear this winter.

The children were beaming with gratitude as they received their items and they were so excited that they put them on immediately. Their parents, who were also present, were so grateful that someone cared about the dire situation that they find themselves in and were willing to assist their children.

Thank you so much Mabuya Centre! Your kind gesture has warmed our hearts.
