On Wednesday, 13 April, TTN Network (represented by Siggi, Wendy and Thobile) headed out to the Dumisani School in Moolman to hand out new school shoes to various children in need.
Thanks to a generous donation of school shoes from Piet Retief Spar, the Team were able to hand out 20 pairs of shoes (plus 2 extra pairs from Siggi) to scholars identified by the faculty. These children are from homes where there simply isn’t enough money to buy new shoes, and with winter fast approaching would be wearing broken shoes, or shoes they have long outgrown.
We would like to thank the Principal, Zanele Dlamini and Mr Bonginkosi Mpanza for their excellent organisation on the morning. The children were called out of their classrooms, given brand new shoes, and lined up with their friends in the courtyard. Their faces went from apprehension (at being called out of class) to sheer happiness, as they realised this was going to be a warmer winter at school!
TTN would also like to say a BIG thank you to Morne and Collette Vosloo from Piet Retief Spar for reaching out, and extending some joy and happiness to this little school. Through their donation, we can show these children that in spite of the tough two years that Covid disrupted their school careers, they are loved and people continue to care for them.
If you would like to assist the Moolman community with any clothing or shoe donations, please contact Siggi van Niekerk from TTN Network on 082 810 8669. Siggi knows many of the families in the Moolman community, and is able to ensure that they reach those with the greatest need, to help them keep warm during these tough winter months.
