Campaigning for women and children

On Friday 10 December, members of Emthunzini Victim Empowerment Centre, which is based in Dirkiesdorp, hosted a peaceful march to mark the end of the 16 Days of Activism of the “No Violence against Women and Children” campaign.

The group was joined by various stakeholders which included members of the SAPS, DSD, GRIP, CPF, the Ward Committee and Ward councilors. The group gathered at the Driefontein Community Hall, where the stakeholders took turns giving a presentation on how they fight Gender-Based Violence in their departments.

They received a very positive response from the community and some even joined the march along the way to show their support for the cause.
