On Friday 15 January, a man harassed several people in Kotze -, Pretorius – and Mark Street.
He apparently went to the front gates of homes and called out to the people inside to ask for food and money. If they did not assist him, he cursed at them.
The victims of his harassment described him as aggressive and verbally abusive and residents are urged to ignore him if he attempts to make contact with them.
On Wednesday 20 January a warning was circulated of a man who has been stealing copper pipes in town. One resident’s CCTV got footage of the identity of the man. He seems to be approximately 22-years old with a beard. Please be on the lookout for this man and call the SAPS or your security company immediately if you see him.
On Wednesday 27 January, a gate motor was stolen in Burger Street. Just before the motor was stolen, camera footage caught a young man looking at a gate motor in Residency Street.
These criminals are active during the curfew times and one can’t help but wonder why officers of the Mkhondo SAPS and Traffic Department are not patrolling during these times. The community requests that they please enforce the curfew law, it is unacceptable that people are not facing the consequences of not adhering to the law.
