Alcohol sales open . . . for now

President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the nation on Monday night the 1st of February and lifted the alcohol ban which was from the 28th of December.

Many South-Africans were very pleased that the ban was lifted because their stocks were running low. Although we thought the liquor stores would have been jam-packed on Tuesday the 2nd of February, it was indeed not the case. We wondered why…

Liquor stores only started to fill up with customers on Wednesday the 3rd of February. The reason could be that residents wanted to finish their old stock before purchasing new merchandise or that they waited for liquor stores to receive new stock.

If there’s one thing South-Africans learnt during this time, was to expect the best but, prepare for the worst.
