On Thursday 19 November members of the Mkhondo Visible Policing Unit (Vispol) conducted a roadblock on the N2-Ermelo road.
They instructed the driver of a GWM double cab bakkie to pull over to the side of the road. The driver parked the vehicle, got out and started running away from the officers. The suspect was chased down and caught by Constable Sukazi and taken back to the vehicle so that a search could be done.
In the bakkie, two MTN cell-tower batteries were found, worth approximately R50 000-00. Upon further investigation, it was found that the vehicle had also been stolen in Boksburg prior to this incident.
The culprit was arrested for the possession of the stolen property.
Congratulations on a successful arrest.
