Critical blood shortages

On Monday 14 December and Wednesday 23 December, the SANBS (South African National Blood Service) will be hosting a blood drive in eMkhondo, at Mall@Mfula.

This initiative has been implemented because of the low blood stock levels that the SANBS is currently experiencing. According to the SANBS website, there is currently approximately three days’ worth of blood in their bank. There are about 3 174 lives at risk nationally at the moment, due to the shortage and currently, only about 1% of South Africans are active blood donors.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a dire effect on the SANBS and for months, donating blood was not possible but, now people are once again kindly invited to do their part. By donating blood, you can save three lives.

Please show your support and visit the blood drive. Your contribution will make a big difference in the lives of ill men, women and children.
