Employees of the Mkhondo Local Municipality recently repainted parking spaces in town, but unfortunately it was a botched paint job. The Excelsior News has received multiple complaints that the job was not done right.
At some places, the parking spots are different sizes and some have been made so small that a single-cab bakkie was unable to fit into it. The lines are not straight and one resident even commented, “did they invite a bunch of kindergarten children to paint with them?”
The circles that indicate where the middle of the parking spaces are, are too big and it’s clear that a stencil was not used when they were painted. The issue was reported to Irene Brussow, the Ward 7 Councillor and she assured the public that the shabby paint-job will be redone and this time it will be done 100%.
We understand that doing a big project like this during the busy hours of the day with people walking around you and vehicles buzzing past you must be difficult but, if it was not rushed it may not have been necessary to waste precious time and resources to redo the botched paint job.
Thank you for the effort but please do it with precision the second time around.
