Restoring a public park

Restoring a park
The new pathway soon to be completed

The public park on the corner of South – and Von Brandis Street has been a stumbling block to the community for the past few years but, the Mkhondo Local Municipality has recently began restoring it to its former glory.

It was reported before that a fence was erected around the property and they also started building a beautiful pathway. The playground equipment is being repaired and updated and flowerbeds are being put in. TWK has sponsored brand new play structures which will be installed as soon as the gates of the public park are erected.

When the restorations are completed, this public park will provide a safe and fun environment for families and children to enjoy. Being fenced in will also mean that it will (hopefully) no longer be used by partiers who play loud music and consume alcoholic beverages there.

To fully complete the project, the MLM is requesting assistance from the community.

They are in desperate need of the following:

  • Paint for the equipment that is already in the park (any bright colour will do!)
  • Shrubs and flowers for the flowerbeds and hedges.
  • Concrete outdoor benches.
  • Three chains of 1 metre long (medium size)

Any donations are welcome and if anyone or a business would be so kind to sponsor the needed equipment, this project can be a huge success.
