Two officials involved in fatal accident

The Mpumalanga Department of Education has learned with shock the news of the passing away of two officials of the Gert Sibande District, who were involved in a fatal accident after collecting PPE’s from the District Office to take to the Amsterdam Circuit.

The accident occurred on Thursday 27 August at approximately 15:00, on the R67-road to Amsterdam from Ermelo. The two officials who lost their lives were Mr Thulani Majozi (54), an Amsterdam Circuit Driver and Mr Manana Thokozani (27), who was recently appointed to render fumigation services.

The circumstances that caused the accident are still unknown. The Department wishes to use this opportunity to convey its condolences to their families and friends.

The MEC for Education, Mr Bonakele Majuba visited the families on Monday 31 August to convey his condolences and to pay homage to the two officials who passed away in the line of duty.
