On Sunday, 3 May a member of the Mkhondo CPF received a tip-off regarding dagga which was being transported in a vehicle on the Paulpietersburg road, near the Wagendrift turn-off.

Members of the Crime Prevention Unit, led by Colonel Blose, went to the area and when they found the vehicle in question, they instructed the driver to pull off to the side of the road. The driver was a male and the vehicle also had three female passengers inside.

The back of the vehicle was closed with a sail and when it was searched, the officers found 59.40 kilograms of dagga, with a street value of approximately R39 600-00.

All were arrested and charged with dealing in dagga. They appeared in court on Tuesday, 5 May but the outcome of their trial is unknown.
