Horse racing results

On Sunday, 8 March a horse racing event took place at KwaNgema.

The horse racing results were as follows:

Race 1 Grade 8:

This horse race was won by Bhampune, owned by Mr Dlamini. Second was Ibhondo, owned by Mr Ntshalinstshali of Ecuku. In third place was Intuthwane owned by Mr Hlatshwayo of Etsheni and in fourth place was Umahawukela, also one of Mr Hlatshwayo’s horses. All of the owners received cash prizes.

Race 2 Grade 7:

A horse owned by Mr Vilakazi of Emaswazini won this race and received a goat. In second place was Umshoza, owned by Mr Hlatshwayo of Etsheni. For this victory he received a cash prize. In third place was Ijikeleza, owned by Mr Mjozi Ngema of Driefontein, who also won a cash prize.

Race 3 Grade 6:

This race was won by Diamond, owned by Mr Mahlambi of Ezitholeni. In second place was Usesi, owned by Mr Hadebe of Icuku and in third place was Phalamende owned by Mr Ndaba of Kwanobhongo. Each of the winners received a cash prize.

Race 4 Grade 5:

This race was won by 1818, owned by Mr Hlatshwayo of Etsheni. In second place was Ushenge, also owned by Mr Hlatshwayo and in third place was Inqanawe, owned by Mr Masondo of Entombe. All won a cash prize.

There is no such thing as long weekends when it comes to horse racing, and on Sunday, 21 April, everyone gathered yet again for a day of racing, held by the Imizamoyabeli Rural Horse Riding Association in Dirkiesdorp.

The following results were provided by Mr Madonsela: Race 1, grade 9: 1st: Bless, of Mr Mthethwa, from Donkerhook . 2nd: Calton center, of Mr Nkosi, from Kwanobhongo. Race 3, grade 1: 1st: 1818, of Mr Hlatshwayo, from Etsheni. 2nd: Shintshimshovo, of Mr Nkosi, from Kwanobhongo. Race 4, grade 6: 1st: Umajazi, of Mr Ndlangamandla, from Dirkiesdorp.

2nd: Ndaba, of Mr Nkosi, from Kwanobhongo. Race 5, grade 5: 1st: Facebook, of Mr Hlatshwayo, from Etsheni. Mr Hlatshwayo also won a goat. 2nd: Waskom, of Mr Nkosi, from Seme Municipality.

On Sunday, 7 April, the Imizamoyabeli Rural Horse Riding Association hosted an event at Driefontein and the below mentioned results were made available by Mr Madonsela, of the organisation.

  • Race 6, grade 4: Winner – Isigcebhe, of Mr Zulu, from Sheepmoor 2nd place – Maskandi, of Mr Khumalo, from Wakkerstroom 3rd place – not provided

The Imizamoyabeli Rural Horse Riding Association would like to ask the community of Mkhondo to support their next race, set to take place Sunday, 21 April, in Dirkiesdorp. Mr Madonsela also stated that the following horses will be competing in this huge event:
