With the recent Covid-19 outbreak, hand sanitiser is hard to come by but, don’t worry, you can make your own!
Gift of the Givers has shared this easy recipe for home-made hand sanitiser for the Covid-19 outbreak:
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup of 99% rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or ethanol
- 1/3 cup of aloe vera gel
- 8-10 drops of essential oil, optional (such as lavender, vanilla, peppermint, grapefruit) – This will add a pleasant fragrance.

Tools and supplies:
- bowl and spoon
- funnel
- recycled liquid soap or hand sanitiser bottle
Method:
Mix all the ingredients together and place the mixture in a bottle. Apply generously to hands as regularly as you feel necessary.

If you are on a small budged, you can follow the following recipe:
Mix 1 litre of white vinegar with 1 litre of water, also add one cup of bleach and three tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda. Mix the ingredients in a large container and pour it into spray bottles. It is very effective against the Covid-19 outbreak and, a home-made disinfectant and also kills insects.
