New Year’s Babies. Babies born on Christmas and New Year’s Day in Piet Retief Hospital. Beauty Grootboom an ambassador for HIV/AIDS visited Piet Retief Hospital On Tuesday, 24 December and Wednesday, 25 December.

She decided to bless the new-born babies and their mothers with Christmas gifts, sponsored by local businesses. Beauty also recently celebrated 20 years of living with HIV/AIDS and is passionate about helping the less fortunate of the community.

Piet Retief Wimpy, Woolworths and Ackermans of Mall of Mfula were amongst the vital local sponsors that donated Christmas presents for Piet Retief Hospital. The total number of new-borns delivered at Piet Retief hospital on Christmas day were 3 (1 males and 2 females).

New Year’s BabiesPiet Retief Spar Management presented gifts to mothers of babies born on 1 January 2020. The overall number for newborns delivered at Piet Retief hospital on New Year’s day were 11 (4 males and 7 females).

Babies born on Christmas Day statistics for Mpumalanga province was: 190; Ehlanzeni District which delivered the most babies in the province totalled to 101 deliveries (59 females and 42 males) followed by Nkangala District with 49 deliveries (20 females and 29 males), Gert Sibande District had 40 deliveries (27 females and 13 males).

Babies born on New Year’s Day statistics for the province was: 157, Ehlanzeni District which delivered the most babies in the province totalled to 81 deliveries (36 females and 45 males) followed by Gert Sibande District with 52 deliveries (27 females and 25 males), Nkangala District had 24 deliveries (9 females and 15 males).
