On Wednesday, 6 November thieves broke into the Thuthukani Stimulation Centre and stole all of the copper pipes, which left them without water.
Pipes were stolen from all eight toilets on the Thuthukani Stimulation Centre premises as well as the copper pipes in the kitchen and those that supplied the building with water. The Thuthukani Stimulation Centre staff and volunteers of the centre are now forced to walk further than a kilometre with buckets to fetch water.
After the robbery, it is nearly impossible for them to prepare meals, keep the building clean and even do something as simple as flushing the toilets.
Some of the children who they accommodate are physically or mentally disabled and this makes their situation even more desperate.
The pipes need to be replaced as soon as possible. If you can assist the Thuthukani Stimulation Centre, kindly contact one of these numbers: 076 277 5427/076 935 7708.
