The Mpumalanga Addiction Rehabilitation Centre MARC of Piet Retief recently hosted a colouring and poster contest for local scholars.
The purpose of the competition was to use a fun and creative medium to create awareness regarding the prevention of substance abuse amongst the youth of Mkhondo. Thus, each colouring picture and poster had a message on the prevention of using drugs.
This contest received a whopping total of 210 entries and from those, the winner and five runners-up were selected.
The best poster was designed by Siyabonga Mdluli of Amadlelo Secondary School. Congratulations!
The five runners-up were:
Harmony Park Combined School:
- Samkelo Ntshalintshali
- Siphelele Nkosi
- Sibahle Dlongolo
Nqobile Primary School:
- Bafana Nyawo

The winners were treated to a delicious lunch at Tuscarora Spur on Thursday, 31 October. They each also received a certificate and a gift basket filled with stationery, art-supplies and snacks, sponsored by Boxer and Pick n Pay Church Street.
