Unsupervised livestock is still a danger

During the last two weeks, unsupervised livestock on the roads caused two serious accidents, and claimed two lives.

This matter of unsupervised livestock has been an ongoing issue for a long time and livestock owners still do not grasp the seriousness of the problem. These owners should appoint herdsman to not only make sure that their animals are safe, but also to keep them from going onto public roads.

Some people still believe that animals grazing on the side of the road, are not creating a dangerous situation. On the contrary, these animals can easily be frightened and run on to the road and in front of a vehicle, which can lead to a life-threatening situation. As a road-user you should always be cautious of the animals wandering on the side of the road.

Pass them at a safe speed to avoid sudden accidents. Livestock belong in their appropriate enclosures, this will keep the animals as well as the people who drive on the roads, safe.
