On Friday, 22 December 2017, it was reported that Mr Gunther Prigge was attacked and murdered at his home in Mooihoek.
The five males, aged between 15 and 28 years old, that were responsible for this horrendous attack on Gunther Prigge, were arrested and charged with his murder.
Four of the five suspects pleaded guilty but one claimed that he was innocent. The conviction of the four that pleaded guilty took place at the Breyten High Court on Thursday, 30 May 2019.
The convictions were as follows:
- Three of the four that appeared in court were given life imprisonment, along with an additional 23 years in prison each.
- The fourth suspect was an underaged individual and he has been sentenced to 36 years in prison.
- The case of the suspect who pleaded not guilty has been scheduled to be heard on Monday, 27 January 2020.
Justice has indeed been served.
