Piet Retief Primary School news

With the second school term of 2019 in full swing, personnel of Piet Retief Primary School would like to welcome their new student and permanent teachers as well as thank the community for their contribution towards the new jungle gym.

A warm-hearted welcome to the following studentteachers: Halima M. Ayob (B.Ed, Intermediate and Senior Phase), final year at Unisa Jessica Burns (B.Ed, Intermediate Phase), third year at NWU Chante Mclaren – (B.Ed, Intermediate Phase), third year at NWU Fatima Z.B. Mahomed – (B.Ed, Intermediate Phase), first year at Two Oceans Institute of South Africa May your time at Piet Retief Primary School be pleasant and an educational experience! Ms Cherese Lourens is also welcomed in the Grade 2 English Medium classroom. She grew up in Newcastle and matriculated at Ferrum High School in 2005.

Thereafter, she studied B.Ed, Foundation Phase in Potchefstroom. Cherese says that she loves teaching and is currently living her dream. She has a passion for children and Piet Retief Primary School’s personnel welcome her to their family of educators. May you feel right at home! During the past school holidays, a new jungle gym was erected which offers a safe place for the children to play.

Thank you to all the businesses who made this possible and for all the generous donations received. Thank you to Mr Hennie Schlebusch and his team for working hard to make the jungle gym a reality before the school started again on Tuesday, 2 April. May all the staff members and learners of Piet Retief Primary School have an eventful and pleasant second term!
