Horse racing results Overvaal

The Imizamoyabeli Rural Horse Riding Association officially held their opening tournament on Sunday, 3 March, at Overvaal (part of the Msukaligwa Municipality, Ermelo) and the following results were made available to the Excelsior News by Mr Madonsela.

Race 1, grade 9: The race was won by Khuzani, of Mr Dladla, from Madlangeni. In 2nd place was Mashoisa, of Mr Zulu, from Msukaligwa Municipality, 3rd place went to G-String, of Mr Sporo, from Sheepmoor and in 4th place was Ingculaza, of Mr Zulu, from Msukaligwa Municipality.

Race 2, grade 8: The race was won by Impangele, of Mr Hadebe from Ecuku. The 2nd place was taken by Icilongo of Mr Madonsela, from Dirkiesdorp and 1818, of Mr Hlatshwayo, from Etsheni, came 3rd. The 4th place was taken by Khuzani of Mr Nkosi, from Donkerhoek (Mkhondo Municipality).

Race 3, grade 6: The winner was Isikebhe, of Mr Gama, from Daggaskraal. 2nd place went to Imfenemavovo, of Mrs Nkambule, from Sinyamvula and 3rd place was taken by Inkonjane of Mr Madonsela, from Dirkiesdorp.

Race 4, grade 5: The race was won by Ubhaskidi and Umsobo was in 2nd place. Both horses belong to Mr Nkosi, from KwaNobhongo.

In 3rd place was Umasikandi, of Mr Yende, from Sinyamvula. Race 5, grade 4: Inqanawe of Mr Masondo, from eNtombe, won the race and Umzansi, of Mr Thabede, from Sinyamvula, came in 2nd place. Only two horses participated in this category.

Horse racing results – 17 March 2019

On Sunday, 17 March, the Imizamoyabeli Rural Horse Riding Association held another horse racing event at KwaNgema (near Driefontein) and the following horses and their owners were victorious.

Race 1, grade 8: Umqamulezweni, of Mr Nyanda, from Kwamahlahla, won this race and Umahawukela, of Mr Hlatswayo, from Etsheni came second. Caltoncentre, of Mr Nkosi, from Kwanobhongo, was in third place.

Race 2, grade 8: Mr Madonsela’s horse, Icilongo, from Driefontein, won the race and Mr Nkosi’s horse, Khuzani of Mkhondo, came second. In third place was Mr Mthetwa’s horse, Dalmed, from Donkerhoek. Race 3, grade 7: The race was won by Umshoza, in second place was 1818 and Mlaba came third.

All three horses belong to Mr Hlathswayo of Etsheni. Race 4, grade 6 and 7: Mr Khanyi’s horse, Isithutha, of Driefontein, won the race with Mr Hlatswayo’s horse, Utalagu, coming in second place. Umenzi, of Mr Shabalala from Heyshopedam, came third.
