Municipal tractor caught discarding rubbish

Dumping of refuse in Amsterdam is in the spotlight after a municipal tractor was seen discarding rubbish in an open field, on the wrong side of the fence of the new dumping site.

On Thursday, 28 February, a resident of Amsterdam saw the driver of a municipal tractor at the new refuse removal site as he was busy discarding rubbish he collected. It was evident that he was not entering the dumping site, but offloading the rubbish in the field, in front of the designated area.

The heap of rubbish was left in an open field, on the wrong side of the dumping site’s fenceThe concerned resident, Mrs Odendaal, mentioned to the Excelsior News, on Monday, 4 March, that these type of negative incidents happen on a regular basis and heaps of rubbish are seen everywhere. If the people that are responsible to collect and discard of rubbish in the correct manner do this, then who is supposed to clean up after them again?

This man who was caught in the act is irresponsible and not setting the correct example for others. Hopefully this employee’s actions will be dealt with in the appropriate manner.
