Twelve “gifts” on Christmas Day

According to the Communications Department of the Piet Retief Hospital, six boys and six girls were born on Christmas Day.

Ambassador for HIV/AIDS in Mkhondo, Beauty Grootboom, together with Cllr. Thembi Khumalo, MMC for Health of Mkhondo Local Municipality, Management of Piet Retief Wimpy and representatives of Crazy Store, visited the hospital on Christmas Day to congratulate the new parents as well as hand over various hampers and gifts.

The patients and staff members at the Maternity – as well as the Paediatric Ward of Piet Retief Hospital received presents for Christmas and it is a great honour to thank valued sponsors such as Pick n Pay Supermarket, Tuscarora Spur, PEP Stores, a local funeral parlour, Lottenburg Edu-Farm and Mr M.G. Scheepers for making Christmas 2018 a joyous occasion.

The patients enjoyed a delicious hamburger and chips and received various items such as crayons, balloons, toys and even baby clothing. The festivities would not have been complete without “Miss Santa Clause” who arrived on her scooter to deliver the gifts.

It was in fact Miss Clause’s birthday as well, and she was welcomed with open arms. Congratulations to the parents of the newborns, may they fill your lives with tremendous joy!
