Grade 3’s visit Durban

Wednesday, 14 November, marked the date for Piet Retief Primary School’s grade 3-learners to depart to Durban for the annual grade 3-tour.

Four teachers and bus drivers, together with 109 excited learners got on the bus for an unforgettable two-day tour to Durban. The youngsters had a splendid time and experienced something new – sleeping in an aquarium for the first time in their lives! They also learned a lot about sea life and secrets of the ocean.

It was, for many, a first to the seaside and surely an outing they will never forget! A huge thank you to Mr Alex and Japie Janse van Vuuren, Mr Hennie Schlebusch and Mrs Susan Janse van Vuuren for all your help. Driving a total of 1 085 kilometres is no joke!

Thank you to Mr Sarel Niewenhuizen for sponsoring the fuel and Mrs Marlize Vermaak for making all the necessary arrangements for this tour.
