The long “Anticipated” Barnyard 2018

Between a cloud of smoke and a beautifully decorated setting, one could hear the lyrics of I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord, perfectly performed by Guido Freise and it was clear that Barnyard 2018 was once again going to be spectacular!

The AGS Fontana Church band has been hosting a Barnyard 2018 for a couple of years now and they keep on surprising their audience with better and better performances every year. This year’s theme was “Anticipate”, and it was surely an occasion not to be missed.

With four evenings all sold out (from Tuesday, 25 September, to Friday, 28 September) – the band had their work cut out for them, but with Master of Ceremonies, Mr Clarence Roux, at their side entertaining the crowd with his hilarious jokes and appreciation towards the talented performers, nothing could go wrong.

Guests had the opportunity to socialise while listening to songs such as Black Velvet, Vir Jou, All for Love, Zombie, Isn’t it Ironic, Home, Fix You, In the Arms of the Angels and Perfect. After a short break of twenty minutes, the band continued to impress the audience with performances by Riaan de Bruyn and Franna du Toit, Duard and Mandie van Zyl, Francois and Lelanie du Plessis and many more.

Songs such as Kinders van die Wind, Someone like You, Ek is Jagter, Skepe, Everytime I fall in Love, to mention only a few, were exquisitely performed. Funds collected at the annual Barnyard will be utilised to upgrade facilities at the church as well as to assist families in need – what a great way to lend a helping hand to others! Well done Fontana! This year’s Barnyard was yet again, one to remember!
