The Excelsior News recently reported on a debating competition that was hosted by the Department of Social Development in Amsterdam, and the final debate results were made available for publication.
On Wednesday, 12 September, various schools within the Mkhondo Local District had the opportunity to take part in the competition, which formed part of a social crime prevention campaign.
Nganana Secondary School was announced as the winners of the debate on the 12th of September, while Qedela Secondary School received second place. These schools had the opportunity to represent the Gert Sibande District during the sub-district competition, held on Friday, 21 September, at the Lekwatini Community Hall.
Thereafter, the finals at provincial level took place on Thursday, 27 September, at the Ka-Bokweni Community Hall, which is situated in the Mbombela Municipal area. The final results were as follows: Winners within Mkhondo Sub-District Municipality: First place – Nganana Secondary School.
Second place – Qedela Secondary School Gert Sibande District Winners: First place – Sibusiso Secondary School Second place – Nganana Secondary School Third place – Qedela Secondary School Mpumalanga Provincial Winners: First place – Gert Sibande District Municipality Second place – Ehlanzeni District Municipality.
