The rugby – and netball teams from Piet Retief High School visited Lydenburg on Saturday, 26 May, and played excellently! The following results were made available to the Excelsior News. Congratulations to the players of the matches mentioned after each score.

Rugby vs Lydenburg: U/14A – won 41- 15 (Henno Delport and Khaya Dube) U/15A – won 53-0 (The entire team) U/16A – won 29- 12 (Llewellyn van der Westhuizen) U/16B – won 52-0 (Andile Madi) Third Team – won 22-5 (Anthony Coetzee and Bongani Mkhonza) Second Team – lost 29-24 (Sphumandla Nkosi) First Team – lost 39-29 (Tiaan Janse Van Vuuren)

Netball: U/14’s – lost against Oosterland 8-10 (Thabsile Mashabane), won against Evander 10-5 (Olwethu Zwane) and drew against Hoogenhout 10 each (Lindelwa Shongwe).

U/15’s – won against Oosterland 18-3 (Cayla Creydt), won against Hoogenhout 16-13 (Tanya Moyo) and won against Evander 22-5 (Tiandza Shongwe).

U/16 – won against Oosterland 17-12 (Aphile Zulu) and won against Hoogenhout 27-6 (Siphokazi Shabalala). First Team – won against Oosterland 41-17 (Lara Jonker), won against Evander 50-19 (Rebecca Ries) and won against Hoogenhout 41-39 (Anesca Smit).

A big congratulations are in order to all Piet Retief High School’s netball teams that will take part in the Mpumalanga Final, on 8 and 9 June 2018!
