KAP Sani2C 2018

Van 7 tot 10 Mei, het tien plaaslike fietsryers deelgeneem aan die KAP Sani2C bergfietswedren. Hierdie is ’n uitmergelende wedren wat oor ’n tydperk van drie dae plaasvind.

Elke dag word ’n nuwe uitdaging aan die deelnemers gestel in die volgende afdelings: Trial, Adventure en Race.

Ryers neem in spanne van twee deel en die volgende spanne van Piet Retief het die roete suksesvol voltooi: Roland Böhmer en Berno Niebuhr (14:33:21), Norman en Marina Creydt (14:43:31), Bruno en Carike Paul (15:33:13), Eddie en Magdel Fivaz (16: 11:11) en Ruan van der Wouden en Tanya Oosthuizen (16:31:07). Na hul registrasie op Maandag, 7 Mei, het die spanne op Dinsdag, 8 Mei, weggetrek en op Donderdag, 10 Mei, die eindstreep oorgesteek. Die roetes wat oor die drie dae voltooi is, is soos volg:

Dag 1 – Glencairn Farm in Himeville tot by MacKenzie Country Club in Ixopo, in ’n afstand van 82 kilometer en ’n totale klim van 1 183 meter. Dag 2 – Mac- Kenzie Country Club tot by Jolivet naby Highflats, in ’n afstand van 96 kilometer en ’n totale klim van 1 529 meter. Dag 3 – Jolivet tot by Scottburgh Laerskool, in ’n afstand van 83 kilometer en ’n totale klim van 681 meter.

Eddie, Magdel, Norman, Marina, Carike en Bruno het hierdie wedren ter nagedagtenis van Wessel Cronje gery. Baie geluk aan elkeen met hierdie uitsonderlike prestasie – dit is beslis iets wat elke ervare fietsryer graag wil vermag.
