1st Freedom Day Commemoration

On Freedom day, the DA Youth in partnership with the Local Football Association, organised a Soccer Tournament at the Kwa Thandeka Stadium. Four teams were involved in this showpiece.

The top four teams in the Log of the Local league were Barcelona FC, Amabhubesi FC, Ajax FC and Killers FC. Barcelona FC won the Tournament by beating Amabhubesi FC 2-1 in the finals. Mr Nature Khumalo, the DA Youth Leader in Mkhondo, said that they are planning to make this an annual event.

Mgazi, who is the secretary of the Local Football Association, also voiced his gratitude to the DA for their involvement with the youth. The event was graced by local Rap artists 3Steps and Mr Snake, who are nationally acclaimed but locally unknown.

Mgazi also reminded the youth, particularly the soccer players, to avail themselves on the 4th of May for a march to be led by the DA to the Mkhondo Local Municipality to deliver the youth memorandum complaining about non maintenance of the local sports facilities in Amsterdam.
