TWK Assegaai Business Relay

TWK Assegaai Business Relay – 34 teams from all over Mkhondo competed in the annual Business Relay, from the Piet Retief Rugby Club. The teams consisted of four members, who each had to complete a 3 kilometre lap.

The winners in each category were as follows: – Mixed teams – Es Chem 1 with a time of 52:47 – Ladies teams – Autotop 3 Panelbeaters Team D with a time of 1:08:39 – Men’s teams – Autotop 3 Panelbeaters Team A with a time of 45:16 – Junior teams – Foodpack Kids with a time of 53:23 Congratulations to every participant!

The Assegaai Marathon Club would also like to thank the following people, without whome the event would not have been possible: TWK Agri for the medals for all finishing teams, Dreyfus van Heerden for putting up the finisher arch and all flags, Lourens Luyt for the videography, Merk Sound and Cell for the music during the evening, Piet Retief Rugby Club for the use of the facilities, Christen Hallis and Lizelle Botha who volunteered at the start, finish and timekeeping, as well as every team that entered and supported this initiative.

This is a charity event and all proceeds will go to Huis Immergroen and Uzwelo Child and Youth Care Centre. A total of R6 600-00 was raised, which will be split between the two organisations. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this possible. Keep an eye out for next year’s Business Relay and get your business’s team ready to try and win the race!
