PRPS’s Busy Bees

PRPS’s Busy Bees. It has been an exciting week at Piet Retief Primary School as a number of events took place.

Congratulations to the winners of the Meat Bonanza Fundraising Project: 1st prize – Mrs M.S. Bekker (Ox) 2nd prize – Me. Jo-Ann Bruwer (Sheep) 3rd prize – Mr Reg Zammit (Sheep) 4th prize – Ms Zakiya (Gnu) 5th prize – Mrs M. Fivaz (Gnu)6th prize – Mrs C. Ingram (Reindeer) 7th prize – Me I. Madonsela (Blesbok) 8th prize – Mrs M. Fivaz (Blesbok) Congratulations to Kaylie Lerm, who sold 32 booklets and raised R6 400-00.

Kaylie won an iPad! The Grade 6V-learners raised the most funds and they will be awarded with a fun-filled day at Badplaas. Piet Retief Primary School would like to thank the Bekker family for donating the 1st prize and Hendrik Zeelie and Jaco Geyer for sponsoring the 2nd and 3rd prize.

The grade 7-learners had entrepreneurs day at Piet Retief Primary School

Thank you to Jaco Potgieter, Dr. Collin Forbes, Herman Eggers and Hans Gerken for sponsoring the game carcasses. This project raised an astonishing R168 000-00 and the school is very thankful for each participant’s contribution. Recently, learners from the LSENclass visited Tuscarora Spur to learn more about the industry.

A study was done on the different departments and each learner enjoyed a delicious hamburger, chips, cool drink and icecream. The learners enjoyed the outing as they also had the opportunity to dance with the mascot. Thank you to the management and staff members from Tuscarora Spur!

During the course of last week, the grade 7-learners had an entrepreneurial day at the school where they sold the most delectable delights. The project was well-supported by fellow learners and it was thoroughly enjoyed.
