Mkhondo Town Clinic Open Day

On Friday, 22 September, Mkhondo Town Clinic hosted an open day to inform the community of the variety of services that the clinic has to offer.

The event was opened by Cllr. I. Brussow, who welcomed the community members and the purpose of the day was explained by Ms G.H.N. Malinga, the sub-district manager for Mkhondo. A short message of support was given to the attendants and the variety of services were explained in detail. During the event, inmates from the Correctional Services performed a dance routine, which entertained the crowd.

The clinic offers a rehabilitation centre for patients in need which also consists of aftercare facilities. The Department of Home Affairs and Social Development explained what their roll is within the clinic’s functionality and the Home Based Care programme was also explained.

Acting operational manager, Ms W.N. Thwala, explained the different types of services that the clinic has to offer and Mr A.V. Nkosi, from the Department of Health, expressed the importance of having a good relationship with the local clinic to ensure that you and your family have optimum health.

The day was ended off with another performance from Correctional Services and the attendants enjoyed a delicious meal whilst enjoying the rest of the day together. They had the opportunity to ask questions and received advice throughout the rest of the function. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the planning and execution of this event and for making the community aware of the importance of the local clinic.
