On Friday, 8 September, National Pharmacy Week was celebrated at the Piet Retief Hospital, by treating the children in the Pediatric Ward.
The children received a Wimpy cheeseburger and chips, with a Kinder JOY chocolate and milkshake. Each child also received a balloon they could wear as a hat. The pharmacists at the Piet Retief Hospital also gave the children cupcakes and a cold drink. They produced a lovely puppet show to entertain the children on the day.
This is only but one of the events that the pharmacists will be hosting during September, as they educate people on the vital role that pharmacists play in health care. The theme for this year is, “Don’t Wait – Vaccinate” and this will be improving community awareness of vaccinating children. Thank you to Nadine Kruger and the Mkhondo Munici- Thank you to everyone who made this event possible and helped with donations or simply gave the children some love
Thank you to Reggies One Stop for the generous donation of cheeseburgers and chips, milkshakes and Kinder JOY chocolates pality who supported the celebration. Thank you to Reggie’s One Stop for the donation of food and toys to the children and mothers in the pediatric ward.
A special thank you to Beauty Grootboom who worked with everyone involved to collect the necessary donations. Hopefully the cheeseburger and puppet show will help the children with their recovery, as it is said that laughter is the best medicine!
