The 332 km M.T.B. Cycle Tour to St. Lucia started in Piet Retief on the 10th of August at 06:30. After the tour was blessed by Rev. Buddy Dupper cyclists entered Swaziland via the Bothashoop Border post.

After a 40 km dusty start they travelled on a tar road with plenty of climbs to exit Swaziland at the Onverwacht Border post to spend the night in Pongola after 132 km of cycling. The next day bright and early the cyclists tackled the 100 km to Baobab Inn whereafter a fabulous braai, everybody was off to bed early. On the next stage breakfast was prepared and served alongside the road on the Candover gravel road on top of a very stiff climb with a view of the Pongolapoort Dam.

The 3rd stage of 100 km started on the 12th August and after 30 km cyclists had breakfast at the Fig tree Restaurant in Hluhluwe. The route then took cyclists along the Bushlands Roads, through gum plantations, along a railway service road to the St. Lucia tar road, 20 km from the town. A dinner was enjoyed at the St. Lucia Ski Boat Club where plenty of stories; were exchanged.

Sunday all the bicycles were loaded on trailers and after a tough but enjoyable tour everybody headed home.
