Mkhondo Golf 1 Crew Donates

On Friday, the 28th of July, members from the Mkhondo Golf 1 Crew gathered for an outreach to Klein Vrystaat Primary School, situated 17 km outside Piet Retief, on the Emahlatini road.

The Mkhondo Golf 1 Crew consists of 36 Golf fanatics and they were all very excited to go out and give back to one of the schools in the community. Grade 6 and 7 learners received a variety of donations that were sponsored to the organisation. The girls received 3 month’s supply of sanitary towels and deodorant while the boys were given toothpaste and –brushes with deodorant.

In total, 110 learners each received a gift and the group left another 50 packs of sanitary towels at the school for future use. Blas also donated a cheque to the value of R1 000-00 to the school. Mr S. Namfu, Treasurer for the Mkhondo Golf 1 Crew, would herewith like to thank everyone who participated in the donation drive and for all the donations that was received.

He mentioned that he received a call from a donator shortly after this drive and was given 1 000 sanitary towels to distribute to girls at less fortunate schools. He would like to request the community to contact him on 073 114 8129 if they might know of any schools in need. The Crew are planning more outreach excursions such as this in the near future and the community are looking forward to seeing their vehicles around town.
