Const Mocheki seized 4,5 kg of dagga that was hidden in a Toyota Corolla

A number of successful arrests were recently made during search operations, which were conducted by the Mahamba and Nerston Border Police.

The Nerston Border Police reported a matter pertaining to a suspect that was arrested on the 21st of June for the possession of 4,5 kg of dagga (street value of R6 675). The dagga was hidden in a Toyota Corolla which was underway to South Africa from Swaziland. The driver of the vehicle was arrested on the scene for dealing in drugs and a case was opened at the Amsterdam SAPS (CAS 59/06/2016).

The vehicle, to the value of R45 000, was also seized and handed over to the Amsterdam SAPS. On Friday morning, at around 06:00, Const. Macu, from the Mahamba Border Police arrested a man for being in possession of 2,6 kg of dagga (street value of R3 900).

The suspect was hitchhiking in a truck underway to Johannesburg, when the driver was pulled over to conduct a search of the vehicle on the N2. A case of dealing in drugs was opened at the Piet Retief SAPS.
