Take a Child Back to School
Thank you to Juanita and Rose who bought and handed the uniforms over when they came to spend some time with the children

Take a Child Back to School. In our rural areas many children never complete matric. Of the learners who receive their matric certificates, only about 5% do so by the age of 18.

To address this gap in our educational system, Piet Retief Miracle Centre and the Siyamthanda Multi Purpose program aim to help underprivileged students to complete their secondary education. Due to the large number of vulnerable children near the Piet Retief Miracle Centre Drop-In Centre, the church decided to stop keeping quiet and to act to help these children.

As part of the outreach an Orphans and Vulnerable Children program (OVC) was started, as well as Home Based Care that is offered to those in need of help. Furthermore, the church offers spiritual support to the community of eThandukukhanya. Another way that the children are helped is through the “Take a Black Child to School” initiative.

Through this initiative individuals and companies in the community can donate school uniforms and Pastor Sifiso Ntumba gives these to children in need. Last week the first report was done of children who received school uniforms through this initiative. This week FNB volunteers donated ten uniforms that were handed out to children in need.

Individuals and companies with willing hearts who want to help those in need can always make a difference in our community. Those who want to get involved in the project can contact Pastor Sifiso Ntumba at 078 633 3189 or sifisoj@ gmail.com.
