Service Delivery Campaign in Full Swing

On Monday, the 6th of March, different departments from the local Mkhondo Municipality gathered at the corner of Anema – and Retief Street, where they discussed the starting point of the Service Delivery Campaign, launched in Mkhondo.

It has been decided that the campaign will start in ward 14, otherwise known as Harmony Park. Department employees are working hard on a cleanup initiative where everything will be rectified. The Electrical Department will be monitoring meters, check for faulty cables and inspect for corruption. Dumping sites in and around the wards will be cleaned up, potholes and sidewalks will be repaired.

Stormwater drains are being fixed and the roads are getting a new coat of paint. Different departments will be allocated into different areas so that everything can be completed in a short period of time. The Honourable Mayor, Executive Cllr. V. Motha, himself helped with maintenance on potholes and visiting the dumping sites which were attended to. No stone will be left unturned and the workers from the municipality are doing their best to make Mkhondo beautiful yet again!

In aid of this Service Delivery Campaign, the residents from Mkhondo are being urged to support the initiative and motivate their families, friends or neighbours to also do their bit in keeping Mkhondo clean. Thank you, Mkhondo Municipality, for initiating this campaign and for showing the community of Mkhondo that by taking each other’s hands, we can all make a difference – together!
