Mr & Miss Phola Park

A new beauty pageant has recently been introduced in Mkhondo – Mr and Miss Phola Park!

On Saturday, the 15th of October, this event opened with a bang at the Skyfin Hall in eThandukukhanya with a large amount of entries for the title of Mr and Miss Phola Park. The ladies, and don’t forget the handsome gentlemen, were all dressed to the nines. The competition was tough but at the end, there could only be one winner in each category, followed by their entourages.

The aim of this event was to afford Mkhondo’s beautiful and talented members of the youth the opportunity to rise above their circumstances and believe in themselves. When taking part in a beauty pageant, a person gains a lot of self-confidence and it makes one proud of what can be achieved if only you are willing to give it a try. Before making the difficult decision of choosing the winners, all the finalists had to answers some interesting questions.

One of the questions was for instance what would you do if you won a million rand? A contestant answered this by saying that she will build a house for her family. Congratulations to the winners of this prestigious event! Miss Snethemba Zulu was crowned as the first Miss Phola Park, followed by Omcy Yende as first princess and Lungelo Xaba was crowned as the second princess.

The handsome Mr Sbusiso Msinda walked away with the title of Mr Phola Park and Mr Seluleko Khumalo was crowned the first prince. All the winners received a gift hamper consisting of luxurious items. Miss Nokukhanya Manana, the organiser of this beauty pageant, stated that she is planning to make this an annual event. She would also like to thank each participant. The community is already looking forward to the Mr and Miss Phola Park 2017!
