Bakers in the Making

Bakers in the Making – Maranatha School visited the Pick n Pay Family Store in Church Street on Thursday, the 22nd of September, to learn more about the art of baking.

It looks like these youngsters are bakers in the making! The grade one classes from The children were introduced to the friendly staff members from Pick n Pay and noticed that they keep a very tidy kitchen indeed. Jeremiah, the baker, showed the youngsters how to bake bread. From explaining the ingredients, kneading and rising, to the baking process.

The delicious aroma of the sweet baked goodies filled the whole store and left one with a hungry tummy. Each learner received a doughnut to decorate themselves. That was quite interesting and very creative! Maranatha School staff members and children wish to thank Werner and Ronel Kleinhans and their friendly staff members at the Pick n Pay Family Store, who made the outing so much fun and for the bag full of treats.
