The Moolman Combined School received a visit from the group, Youth of Today, on Friday, the 26th of August, at Moolman.
The aim of the visit was to encourage and motivate young people who may fall victim to domestic violence, whether it be physical or emotional. The meeting consisted of two sessions. The first seminar started off with groups of youngsters hosting a talent show. They danced and sang to show off their different talents. Youth of Today, together with the local SAPS and the Department of Justice.
The day was opened in prayer tice were all present. Constables Nkosi and Nkhabhi spoke to the learners and encouraged them to speak out if they feel victimised in any way. Constable Nkosi provided the children with his cellphone number, 076 306 0343, and ensured them that their complaints will be dealt with in absolute confidentiality. Afterwards, Mr B. Mathebula and Mrs N. Nthangase, from the Department of Justice also addressed the learners with a word of encouragement.
The second seminar was for the girls only. They were gifted with a warm plate of food while they received donations of sanitary gift sets – a special treat to remind them of how special each one of them are. Youth of Today wishes to thank everyone who was involved in making the day a success and to thank their sponsors for all the donations.
