Commondale Youth Football Tournament

On Saturday, 20 August, Borussia Commondale hosted a soccer tournament for the youth (ages 10 and 13).

This was the second stage of the tournament, with the semifinals and final being played. The boys were very excited to participate in the tournament and the day ended on a high, with smiles all round. I Abafana Bezazi FC lost to Mighty Commondale City FC 0-3 in the 1st semifinal and Langa II FC lost to All Stars FC 2-4 in the 2nd semifinal.

The final was then played between, Mighty Commondale City FC and All Stars FC. It was a close match, but at the end of the day it was All Stars FC who won the tournament with a score of 4-3. All Stars FC were crowned champions of the tournament and were overjoyed upon receiving the winner’s trophy.

The youth that participated were all excited about getting the chance to play, as well as for receiving medals. The trophy was sponsored by Borussia Commondale Booster Club from Germany.

Mr Sbonelo Khumalo, the coach of the U/13 Amaglug Glug soccer team of Retiefville would like to convey his gratitude towards Mr Imtiaz Mohammed, a valued donor of the team. These boys recently joined the Mkhondo Local Football Association League and desperately needed a soccer kit. Mr Mohammed, the owner of H&F Hardware stepped in and donated the required soccer kit. Thank you for the valued contribution!
