Archers Perform Excellently

Piet Retief Archers Perform Excellently at the SACCSA Nationals – A group of 19 archers from Piet Retief competed in the SACCSA national archery competition held at the Ermelo Sports Hall on Friday, the 29th of July.

The archers were all part of the Mpumalanga team. As a team, everybody upped their game and managed to still their nerves and shoot with great poise. Jordan Yiollaris and Liam Aslett both managed to win their respective categories and walked away with gold medals. Siegrid Dedekind came in at second place. Tessa Peters and Lily Carr both received a bronze medal in their age category.

Congratulations to each one for your excellent performance and achievement! They presented themselves proudly with only a few participants missing out on medals by only one or two points. As a club, they came home with 14 top 10 finishers. Mr Sheldon Hallis stated that they are very proud of all the participants who competed in the SACCSA national competition.

He also made a joke, saying that with the archers shooting at the level they currently do, none of them will ever have to go hungry!
