2016 Municipal Elections Results for Mkhondo

With the 2016 municipal elections done and dusted, Mkhondo’s results are as follows:

The Mkhondo District consists of 19 wards, numbered from 83003001 to 83003019. The leading party for Mkhondo is currently the African National Congress (ANC), followed by the Democratic Alliance (DA) in second place, and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in third place.

With a number of 41 168 people that voted in Mkhondo, a staggering 749 votes were spoiled and resulted in only 40 419 valid votes counted. Results for all 19 wards stand as follows:

  • Ward 1 ANC 79.34% EFF 12.32% APC 3.59%
  • Ward 2 ANC 61.78% IND 12.24% APC 11.59%
  • Ward 3 ANC 86.1% EFF 7.4% DA 3.15%
  • Ward 4 ANC 83.43% DA 10.27% EFF 4.34%
  • Ward 5 ANC 88.59% DA 5.91% EFF 4.1%
  • Ward 6 ANC 90.66% EFF 3.67% DA 3.56%
  • Ward 7 DA 69.37% ANC 16.6% VF+ 11.27%
  • Ward 8 ANC 84.98% DA 4.75 EFF 3.42%
  • Ward 9 ANC 77.9% DA 9.31% IFP 4.67%
  • Ward 10 ANC 72.49% EFF 13.31% DA 9.55%
  • Ward 11 ANC 85.41% EFF 8.1% DA 3.69%
  • Ward 12 ANC 84.79% EFF 10.03% DA 2.37%
