Candlelight for HIV/Aids Awareness

On Friday, 27 May 2016, Mrs. B. Grootboom, ambassador for HIV/ Aids held a candlelight event for the Aids awareness of HIV and Aids.

The event took place at Ezakheni Combined School, were the learners were visited by various speakers. Pastor Hadebe motivated the learners and Mrs. N. Mavibela from the Mkhondo Municipality, warned learners about risky behaviour that could lead to HIV/Aids. Mrs. B. Grootboom then spoke to the learners making them more aware of HIV/Aids.

Candles were laid out in the shape of the HIV/Aids ribbon and then lit up, each colour bearing a symbol. The three colours were red, white and yellow. Red, represents people that have been tested positive for HIV/Aids. White, represents the hope for a cure and yellow, represents the people that are affected.
