Woman Empowerment

There is no tool for development, that is more effective than the empowerment of women. Mr Moses Fakude, a local farmer, has taken the ladies from rural areas under his wing.

He saw a loophole that needed to be covered, and he came up with an innovative idea to assist and bring about change for some women in Mkhondo. Moses saw the need in his community and identified a few women that he could work with. He then placed theses ladies under his care, teaching and training them to plant and cultivate vegetables. The ladies are equipped with the much needed training and use their skills at home to create their own little backyard gardens, which they use to feed their families. Moses uses the skills that he has been taught, and shares it with these ladies, so that they are able to empower themselves with a skill to provide for their families as well as start their very own small businesses.

The women are enthusiastic and eager to learn and enrich their minds with the knowledge that Moses shares with them. Their interest in agricultural farming not only is adding to their own benefits, but it also benefit the economy. Mr Moses Fakude together with his team at the vegetable garden. With our current unemployment status in our country, the little that Moses is trying to change, by enriching and teaching these women, has made a huge difference. The ladies are happy to go home with fresh vegetables to provide a nutritious meal for their familes. The good thing is that Moses not only provides them with the food, but he teaches them skills to plant their own vegetables at home. Mr Moses Fakude has done an incredible job in playing his part in society and sharing his knowledge for a good cause. Empowering women not only sustains a bright future but it uplifts them within the society as well.
