New Owners at Tuscarora Spur

Those residents, who have been staying in Piet Retief for longer than twelve years, might well remember the excitement when news spread that Tuscarora Spur was coming to Piet Retief.

Of course there were the negative ones who reckoned that just another restaurant in Piet Retief was doomed, but they were proved wrong. Even though it sometimes was a hard battle to fight, according to previous owner, Virgilio Nunes, the Tuscarora Spur is going strong. When Virgilio and Penny decided that they needed a change, the franchise was sold and it seems that new owner partners, Henry Brits and Helene Paul, are fit and able and also full of ideas and plans to, with time, make everyone’s local Spur experience an even better one. They took over as from 1 December 2015. Staff changes have only been made where members of staff wanted to further their studies and where additions to the present staff were made. Local people are trained for all positions, also the chefs.

Because shifts are worked it is possible for the staff to serve breakfast from 07:00 every day (except on Sundays and public holidays, when they serve breakfast from 08:00). Helene says they thank their Heavenly Father for such a wonderful opportunity and blessings. They also thank the community of Piet Retief for their wonderful and ongoing support. She says that they will strive for excellence and even further improvement.
