GYM Holds High Tea

On Saturday the Girls Youth Ministry held a high tea at the Wellspring Youth House for mums, grannies and young girls.

The GYM is a group of girls lead by Leandri van der Merwe and Susan Rudolph, assisting them to get through day to day situations that puts pressure on teenage girls. Girls Youth Ministry has a legacy of godly girls, coming alongside other girls, guiding them on a path to becoming mature, godly women. The aim of the meeting was to enable young teenage girls to realize that they are not alone and that they have a support group that they can lean on. The evening was set out to be really phenomenal as mums together with their daughters joined hands and received all advice whole heartedly.

Susan opened up the meeting with a slide show of last year’s events and encouraged the girls to have faith and find refuge in God. Her speech reassured the mums and grannies that their group would assist in every way possible to help the young girls work through their daily issues with their assistance. The girls would be taught and coached with the right ammunition to tackle any issue clouding their views to see life in a clearer picture. The GYM’s outstanding outcome of last year’s events, vouched for the remarkable work that the group is doing in Piet Retief.

Woman empowerment was set out for the evening as the crowd was mesmerized by Chante- Louis Niemandt and her golden voice as she delivered an inspirational song to motivate and inspire the young women present. Her speech captivated many as she related her personal experiences to the demonstration of how life can be difficult, but how with faith and perseverance, one can pick oneself up and move on. Each and every girl that attended was left motivated and encouraged. Jordan Perumal and Laisha Naidoo were selected as the new GYM leaders for 2016. Leandri, Susan and their team would like to invite and encourage young girls who would like to be mentored and inspired by the GYM to contact them on 079 640 5173 or 060 974 6693.
