Workers at the N2 car wash have gone the extra mile in assisting school pedestrians.
Chris Mathebula and Sandile Nkosi have made an extra effort in trying to keep the school pedestrians safe, that use the pedestrian crossing on the N2, entering from the Pongola side.
They have noticed the danger that the learners encounter while using the zebra crossing unaided. Every afternoon the car wash workers assist, in getting the scholars safely across the road. They have been described as the road’s angels by many parents whose children are assisted at the crossing. The workers leave the car wash and use their lunch time to assist the scholars to cross. Sacrifice and determination just to ensure the safety of the pedestrians are clearly visible.
Even though road signs have been placed for motorists to be warned of the pedestrian crossing, the traffic moves at a tremendous speed, endangering the lives of the children using the crossing. Chris and Sandile are appealing to the public to assist with scholar patrol boards, to ensure the motorists take heed of the children that are crossing.
Any members of the public who are willing to assist can contact Chris on 071 196 1836 or Sandile on 079 483 0801.
