eMkhondo Promotion League

The Mkhondo LFA will resume with the Thandukukhanya eMkhondo Promotion League second round matches this weekend after the festive break.

The transfer window period where clubs are allowed to register new players is open until 31 January 2016. The second round begins with an exciting match between log leaders Comet Riders FC vs United Brothers FC at the Nkonjaneni Ground on Sunday, the 17th of January 2016.

Both teams have 34 points after playing 12 games each and are separated by a goal difference on top of the Stream A league log. Stream B is led by Total Football United FC (whose development league sides took every title in 2015) with 30 points after 12 games, followed by Citizens FC with 29 points. All matches will be played on Sunday 17th January 2016 at different grounds including Kwantombazana, Milner Park, Ajax Ground, Retiefville and Masenkeni Stadiums.

With regards to the Mkhondo Development League for 2016, the league division for clubs with players under the age of 13, under15 and under 17 will start on the 6th of February 2016. Registration for clubs is now open until the 31st January 2016. No registration or affiliation fee is required to play in the Mkhondo Development League.

The current champions of the league is Citizen Football Club, who won the league in all different age groups for 2015. To register a club in the Mkhondo Development League, please contact Mkhondo LFA Secretary, Mr Ntokozo Simelane, on 082 417 4055.
